At present, no events or

workshops are available.

On March 4-5, I will attend (virtually) the annual meeting of the Kentucky Philological Association, in my elected role as the KPA President. I will present a paper, "Reading Franzen: Paragraph 1 of Crossroads," that Saturday, and give a Presidential Speech immediately after the noon-time business meeting. I'm hoping to see my essay on Kingsolver's Unsheltered in the new issue of the Kentucky Philological Review

Also in March, I will attend the annual conference of the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts, reading a paper on 3/17 (all in green) on the critical reception of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time book series, recently adapted for the small screen. I have offered to be a Conference Assistant for the assoc.

Announcing New-ish Poetry Book

On Monday, November 8, Marianne Peel's wonderful book of poetry, No Distance Between Us: A Journey in Poems  was launched via a virtual Zoom meet-up of over 60 mentors, well-wishers, and friends. The book poetically renders her meetings with people not usually found on a tour program. It is available from Shadelandhouse Modern Press for $12 plus shipping/handling. Marianne is available for readings, and just gave one on 2/7 at the Cocoa Beach Public Library, where she will be teaching a poetry class this April.
